Since I’ve been on a kick of messing with my bullet journal, I’ve decided to do an updated post with a look at some of the changes I’m incorporating this month! If you haven’t seen any of my older ‘bujo’ posts, check them out here!
Among them are changes in the way I lay out my hours for each day, my color code, and a way to track my morning routine. (Since I tend to be really foggy-brained early in the mornings!)
(Disclaimer: I apologize for the poor quality photos, I am hoping to have a proper camera set up soon, I’m only missing one last piece! So until then, just bear with me!)
This is the end of April where I initially started making the changes in my headers. I just really love the way this entire spread looks so even though it isn’t quite part of this month, I still wanted to include it!
For my May setup, I went much cleaner and simpler than I did with April. I decided to change to a blue color scheme this month and changed up my habit tracker a little bit as well. I was also given this beautiful flower cut out from a collage artist and so I pasted it into the gratitude log and began doodling around it! I love the splash of color it adds!
Here you can see where I started incorporating my morning routine tracker on the far right side. The symbols have specific meanings so I don’t have to write them out each time. The moon means that I got to bed on time the night before and the sun means I woke up by 6:00 am. Then I have a little smiley face to indicate that I washed my face and brushed my teeth. Then I have meditation and exercise stick figures followed by a lovely cup of coffee! All of these activities are to be accomplished before 7:00 am (which I have yet to succeed at so far ha!) which is outlined in my “Ideal Day” spread below!
I created this spread because at one point, I realized that I had been struggling with my days because I felt like they weren’t living up to how I felt they should look. Then it occurred to me that I had no real idea how my hours broke down, or were supposed to break down, in a realistic manner. So I designed this simple time ladder and broke my ‘ideal day’ down into sections of time so I could see where my hours needed to go versus where I wanted them to go. Having this timeline laid out really helps me put into perspective all of the little things that break up my day, and also helps me see what I would need to make up if I have an appointment or other plans during a specific time block.
I really love this quote. Many people I know, myself included, tend to feel obligated to sacrifice even small portions of their happiness for the sake of other’s comforts and expectations. It took a long time for me to realize that this life was MY life to chase, and that I didn’t need to dampen my excitement for my own life to suit someone else’s expectations of what it should look like!
And here we are at this week! I started using the weekly overview at the top of the page because I felt like I didn’t really need a full page for it anymore. I also decided to put a chore overview since there are some chores that I need to do each week but not necessarily on the same day each week. (I already don’t really like this setup though, so I’ll likely be brainstorming on a better way to incorporate it into next week.) You can also see that I continued with my morning trackers as well as the hydration trackers under each date. This week I plan on keeping the dates on the insides of the pages near the seam, and the morning boxes on the outsides. Once again, we will have to wait to see if I like that or not! Now, I know that the color looks a little faded in the photos, and I’m not sure what went wrong with them, but my updated color codes now coincide with my monthly coloring. There is blue for Briar, red for Ronan, orange for Josh, and pink for myself. Green and purple represent other activities such as errands and chores (green) and appointments or events outside our family colors (purple). In my daily tracker, these colors are used to track specific tasks along side yellow for my blog work or other writing, and gray for my personal morning and evening activities, such as journaling, meditating, and of course, sleeping!
Some other pages that I don’t have photos of (for surprise reasons) are our plans for my best friend’s wedding and combined bachelor/bachelorette party in New Orleans in June, and a new project I have been working on behind the scenes for any of my followers that are interested in autism! I’ve been hinting at it on my instagram and I am hoping to complete most of the work on it this month so I can finally get it released to you! I’m seriously so excited to share this with you! As far as the party goes, I will be making a post and sharing (appropriate) photos when it happens!
I hope all of you enjoyed this little update and I can’t wait to see how my bullet journal will change over the next month! And as always…
Have a beautiful day!
