52 Weeks of Gratitude – Wks 8 & 9

I apologize for my absence everyone! However, I heard that I wasn’t the only one having a rough week! Check out this hilarious post about what was going on: Let’s Destroy Mercury – The Bloggess.

Now, on to what we missed! Weeks 8 and 9 were supposed to be “a friend” and “express gratitude to 3 people”. So I am just going to shorten that to showing gratitude to 4 people that I hold very dear in my life!

Since week 8 was supposed to be friend, then I will start with my best friend and soul sister, Melissa. She lives on the other side of the planet from me and yet we talk almost every day. We only get to see each other about once a year but when we do it’s like we are whole again. She is absolutely one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and I can never express that enough. Her love and joy in this world are unmatched. She works so hard to show compassion to everyone and she inspires me (and many others) all the time! She loves children, animals (especially dogs), and her husband. She is known in my home as “Meli” and my kids love her as much as I do! I cannot ever express how much I love seeing her smile and love life. She’s a gosh damn ethereal goddess… and if anyone tries to challenge me on that I will throw glitter at your eyeballs.

Next I want to tell my step-dad, Matt, how grateful I am to have him in my life! He has been wonderful for our family, has provided my mom with the kind of love and patience she deserves, and has always been willing to play devil’s advocate with me on any debate so that I will be challenged rather than just agreed with. I love him for being the dad I always needed and I’m so thankful that he gave me the chance to see what that relationship is supposed to look like!

Now, I warned y’all that this would happen…. my next person is my partner, Joshua. I know he got an entire post to himself but seriously, I can’t ever come close to explaining how wonderful he is. I’m grateful for the day he set foot in my life and I’m so glad that he decided to stay. He has shown me, with patience and love, how wonderful life can be and he has helped me learn how to let go of the things that bring stress into my life. He has never shied away from taking anything onto his shoulders just to provide us with the life we want, and that is what a true man is. He holds our family together with the power of the oceans, gentle, calm, soft, and yet powerfully strong and relentless.

Last, I want to express gratitude to YOU! Gratitude is a simple thing to me, it should be expressed toward anyone without discrimination for the simple fact that if a person exists, then they have changed the world somehow, some way. And that is incredible! So, if you are reading this, thank you for existing! I mean it!!

Have a beautiful day everyone!
